Travel and Tourism sector is one of the fastest growing sectors all over the world. As per the data provided by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), this sector generated approximately US $7.8 trillion in GDP in 2015 and employed over 284 million people all over the world. Although the sector is quite huge, it suffers from a misperception related to the career opportunities it has to offer. It is due to this reason that the sector is facing tremendous talent deficit. However, in reality the sector is full of potential and there are a number of reasons for you to choose a career in Travel and Tourism.

Attractive career programmes- According to a research report of WTTC, Travel and Tourism can miss out on US $610 billion in GDP or 14 million jobs, if government and private companies do not come forward to address this human resource issue. Hence, tourism companies are coming up with lot of attractive career programmes to attract and hold on to best talent.

High demand for jobs- The sector has huge development potential, it has been forecasted that Travel and Tourism will grow by 3.7 per cent over the next decade, that is one per cent point above the average growth of global GDP. It is also expected that the number of international travellers would rise to 1.8 billion by 2030. Hence, there would be a lot of job opportunities in this sector due to demand created by such growth.
