Essential: 
(i) 12th class passed from a recognised Board or University established or incorporated by or under a Central Act; Provincial Act or a State Act or any institution for higher education deemed to be a university by the Central Government or any other institution or foreign University approved by the Central Government. 
(ii) Dictation for 10 minutes at the rate of 100 words per minute. 
(iii) Transcription of the dictation in 55 minutes (in the concerned regional language) preferably on computer. Desirable: Knowledge of English typing at the speed of 35 words per minute.

Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on closing date of receiving applications. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for 5C/ST candidate and by 3 years for OBC candidates.

Organisation Profile : Ministry of Law and Justice is the oldest limb of the Government of India dating back to 1833 when the Charter Act 1833 enacted by the British Parliament. The said Act vested for the first time legislative power in a single authority, namely the Governor General in Council. By virtue of this authority and the authority vested under him under section 22 of the Indian Councils Act 1861 the Governor General in Council enacted laws for the country from 1834 to 1920.
