About Exams on  Saturday, 09 September 2017
SSC CGL exam has always been one of the most prestigious and fiercely competitive exams of all times. Now that the SSC CGL Tier I exams have been done away with, it’s time to focus on the Tier-II. If you are confused about how to prepare for Tier-II then you all have come to the right place. SSC has declared the Tier-II exam dates to be between 27th to 30th November 2017. I am sure all of you must have prepared well for Tier-1 but we need to examine the details of the scheme of Tier-2 in order to clear this main hurdle as well.

  1. Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the categories of posts.
  2. Paper-III is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)
  3. Paper IV is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Assistant Audit Officer (AAO)/Assistant Accounts Officer(AAO).

Important points to keep in mind while preparing for this exam
  • Take a good look at the syllabus again and make a schedule of covering almost all the topics.
  • Try to solve all the previous years CGL question papers. In case you are wondering, they are available on Education Forever’s website. You can click on this link.
  • Get hold of as many mock tests available online and try to solve them within stipulated time. This will help you in finding your strengths and weaknesses as per the subject.
  • Precision and accuracy is what matters in this exam as it carries a negative marking system as well. (025 for every incorrect answer)
  • Get your fundamentals clear for the subjects and then go for the short cut tricks for solving the exam. Remember there is no short cut to hard work.
  • Try solving the maximum number of questions in the first half in order to ease up the pressure in the second half.
  • Keep revising the formulas and basic concepts time and again in order to be equipped to confront any difficult question that you haven’t prepared for beore.
  • Solve those questions repeatedly which you couldn’t in the first go.
  • Take help of guide books for this exam. A few good books are suggested at the end of this post.
  • Given your aptitude and preference for the given post, you need to work hard on those areas of the prescribed syllabus of that particular post. There are a lot of candidates applying but only a handful chosen ones will be selected for the job. Work hard and work smart is the new mantra to do it.
  • It would be a good idea to not initiate any new topic before 3-4 days of the exam. Just focus on what you have prepared all this while.
  • Be confident that you have prepared well and believe in yourself and luck would appreciate that attitude as well.
Wishing all the aspirants all the luck preparing for this exam and keep checking our website for more pointers to come for this exam.
