Age Limit: Candidates minimum age should be 40 years for General, 42 years for Backward Class, 43 years for Women, 45 years for SC & ST candidates for S.No-1, 35 years for General, 37 years for Backward Class, 38 years for Women, 40 years for SC & ST candidates for S.No-2 as on 01-01-2015. Age relaxation 5 years for Physically handicapped candidates of all the categories.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess Graduation Honours with at least 50% marks and Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks in relevant subject from a recognized university by U.G.C or B.Ed. from any institution recognized by NCTE or M.Sc. Ed. In relevant subject from Regional college of Education, NCERT for science teacher in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Mathematics for S.No1, M.B.B.S. With one year internship from a College/ Institute recognized by MCI for S.No-2 with relevant experience.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on performance in written test, GD, Interview.

The Government of Bihar conceived and resolved to set-up a Model institution where every facility for the education could be made available to the selected meritorious and talented students between the ages of 10 and 18 years belonging to the Weaker-sections and hailing from the rural areas. With the view, the Bihar Legislative Assembly, in 1951, appointed a Committee under the Chairmanship of Sri. F. G. Pearce, the Principal of Rishi Valley School. Sri. Pearce"s scheme finally received the general approval of the Bihar Govt. in 1952 and the Residential School was opened on 15th November, 1954 at Netarhat with Sri. Charles Napier as its First Principal. The School admitted the first batch of students numbering 60 in 1954 for a six-years course. From 1982 onwards, the strength of Boys was raised up to 100.The Alumni of Netarhat school have excelled in almost all the fields including Administration, Research, Medicine, Engineering and Teaching. The school is situated far away from disturbed and busy life of town, and is very close to lap of nature surrounded by Sal trees on a hill top.
