Career Guidance on  Wednesday, 10 August 2016

There are some common mistakes that are done by MBA students that can land them to unemployment with little future scope. To understand these we must first understand history of Master of Business Administration (MBA). History of MBA goes through the industrial revolution, in industrial revolution there was a need of mass production of similar objects and hence factories emerged and many companies emerged in competition. 5 Common Mistakes made by MBA StudentsAs competition grew the companies searched for methods for maximising the profits they made and hence they started with organising the Human resource and tried to improve productivity, they succeeded with their quest after providing some facilities and using shifts and also creating the working environment. Doing these fetched a large amount of profits to owners, seeing this other industries also started research to make profits using some techniques some got success with machinery some with raw material and some with their products looks, and so on there were many branches of management were discovered.

Since the researches made a good profitable technique and rules, it made the demand for management grow wider and wider. Since demand grew the need for new management was required and hence making it a subject of study. Now moving on to the problem that we face is that people don&rsquot understand the nature of the management they are perusing and hence fail to explore vastness of it.

Mistake 1: Not Choosing Suitable Stream or Collage

One of the biggest mistakes that people do is to randomly select collage on friend&rsquos advice or from any related person without going in the details about it. The Sharp educationalists in field of management have rightly composed the various ranges of courses making it even more difficult to choose both for parents and children&rsquos. Before choosing a course a expectation list is to be made, a list that states what do you expect from the course that you are going to opt and weather that option can fulfil the requirement you have. After doing that do the same for collage selection you might know which course and from where you have to opt. Deciding these two factors may play crucial role in deciding you future career prospect, as some students my want to be bankers some may want to be entrepreneur some may even think of becoming HR recruiter and so on.

A list of guiding points is to be prepared considering important factors like collage reputation, its placements, faculty, facility and many more through internet, by visiting the collage or by asking the students currently studying there. If we make a mistake there it will have lifelong consequence on your career so choose carefully.

Mistake 2: Not Focusing from Start

Most of the students sit back, party or relax thinking that once they have secured a good collage and a good branch their career is set and they will automatically get the job in good company. But if think that then you are wrong, to become successful you must start working from day one making efforts to achieve your goal. If you ask one of the MBA&rsquos what his true regret was during his MBA, most will answer that they regret the time they wasted in their initial days. And if you ask them why do you think that time was important? Their answers are like it was the only time when we can freely explore our fields, as the time passes we are burdened with exams practical and finally burden of getting a good job, making us unable to learn what is truly needed to get a good job. If you want to reap great benefits from the course you have chosen then it is the best to start working from day you enrol in your course. Mistake

Mistake 3: Not Paying Attention to Practical Session and training

If someone truly understands the essence of MBA then they would know that to a MBA Practical is everything as they would require these experiences to face the real world. Most of the MBA students think of practical sessions as a boring time or free time where they chit chat or skip the classes. This is the biggest mistake people do as each practical teaches something important. Practical as designed based on real life experience and can sometime be used in our personal life to solve problems. The biggest advantage of attending summer training or practical session is that when you do attend a training or internship in some company, the companies more often select those candidate those who have worked in their companies as interns making 90% surety of selection in the company the person was in intern of. Mistake

Mistake 4: Not Being in Campus on Important days

Most of the management institutes organise various events and activity like job fair, conferences, influential industry personnel or collage fair etc. These are the opportunity that a student must use, to show their talent and skills to industry. These opportunities provide them with the industry exposure, but as usual most of the students don&rsquot think of these events much and avoid them loosing the chance to get noticed by others. And hence students should pay more attention to such events. Mistake

Mistake 5: Not putting required efforts in improving language communication skills

In recent years MBA has become number one in having most operations in industries and organisation. Good communication skills are considered an important aspect of powerful management. Having a good communication skill lands a powerful effect on your image.
