UPCPMT or Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test is a state level medical entrance exam for admission to various Under Graduate medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BHMS and BUMS, in 14 government medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh. This year the exam will be conducted by the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya University, Gorakhpur.
Eligibility Criteria- Candidates planning to appear for the exam must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2016. Interested candidates must be domicile of Uttar Pradesh and must have passed 10+2 level examination from a recognized Board or University with Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry and English. The minimum requisite percentage is 50% for general category candidates and 40% for SC/ST candidates.
Examination Pattern- The exam is conducted in pen and paper based mode in exam centres spread across 15 cities of Uttar Pradesh. The question paper consists of 200 Multiple Choice Questions with a single correct answer. The aim is to test the candidate’s knowledge in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. The candidates are offered +1 mark for every correct answer, while there is no negative marking for an incorrect answer.
