Project Title  :  Development of Virtual Reality Mine Simulator (VRMS) for improving Safety and Productivity in Indian Coal Mines

Research Associate (RA)

No. of Post  :  01

Qualification  :  Ph.D. in Mining Engineering or 2 years of research/ teaching/field experience after B.E./B.Tech. and M.E/M.Tech with first class in Mining Engineering /Computer Science & Engineering/ Electronics Engineering.

Fellowship : Rs. 40,000/- pm for 1st Year, Rs. 50,000/- pm for 2nd Year.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

No. of Posts  :  02

Qualification  :  BE/B.Tech and ME/M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology/ Mining Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering with first class with 2 years of Post- BE/B.Tech, research/ teaching experience.

Fellowship :  Rs. 28,000/- pm for 1st Year, Rs. 30,000/- pm for 2nd Year.

Project Fellow (PF)

No. of Post  :  01

Qualification  :  BE/B.Tech in Mining Engineering with first class.

Fellowship :  Rs. 25,000/- pm for 1st Year, Rs. 28,000/- pm for 2nd Year

Organisation Profile :

The Indian National Congress at its XVII Session of December 1901 passed a resolution stating that &ldquoin view of the fact that the tendency of recent legislation namely, The Indian Mines Act VII of 1901, is that all Indian mines must be kept under the supervision of mining experts, the Congress is of opinion that a Government College of Mining Engineering be established in some suitable place in India on the models of the Royal School of Mines in England, Mining Colleges of Japan and at other places in the continent&rdquo. The McPherson Committee formed by Govt. of India, recommended the establishment of an institution for imparting education in the fields of Mining and Geology, whose report, submitted in 1920, formed the main basis for establishment of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad
