Tips to Crack CTET Exam 2016 in Single Attempt

CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test and is conducted once a year. It offers posts at Primary Level i.e. for class I to V, and Junior Level i.e. for class VI to VIII. Every year almost 6 lakh students participate in CTET exam from different regions of India. So as you can see there is a very tough competition so you need to have your own strategy to clear the exam in first attempt. The CTET certificate is valid for seven years and is applicable at-

  • Central Government Schools
  • Schools in Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Chandigarh
  • Schools owned by State Government
  • MCD and Delhi Administration schools also need a CTET qualified students
  • Unaided private schools

Exam Pattern- this exam generally includes objective type Multiple Choice Question i.e. MCQ&rsquos and there is no negative marking with an exam duration of 2hours 30 minutes. There are two papers of CTET. Paper I is for those who intend to be teacher at primary level and Paper II is for those who intend to be teacher at junior level. And those who want to apply for teaching at both levels need to solve both the papers.

Tips and Tricks-

  1. Time Management- Time management is one of the most important things while preparing for a competitive exam. This is so because you need to complete a given set of questions in a specified time. This can be achieved by regular practice. Solving numerous question papers and taking mock tests. This enhances your speed and also gives you confidence. You can also do so by keeping a stop watch with yourself. During the exam you should first go for questions that you are confident about, this will save your time. Marking your strengths and weaknesses also helps a lot. So if you keep these things in mind you will be able to manage time very well during the exam.
  2. Solving Previous Year Question Papers- Solving previous year question papers gives you an idea about the question pattern and the frequently asked questions. For the aspirants such a practice proves very beneficial. As it increases your confidence and time management skills.
